HOW DO I

Make A Report

***If this is an emergency please call 911***

If your report needs immediate attention, online reporting is not appropriate for you - these reports are normally reviewed during regular business hours, 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday.

We understand you are busy and time may be in short supply, so this is just another option for making an initial report. We are always available and happy to respond personally to take your report - online reporting is offered as a convenience to you. Depending on the circumstances of your case, it is likely that we will still need to follow up wit h you to obtain more information - please provide accurate contact information to facilitate this follow-up. Please confirm the following to find out if making an online police report is right for you:

  • That your case is not an emergency
  • That your incident occurred within the city limits of Vermillion
  • That you have a valid email address
  • That there is no evidence to be collected at the incident

All cases filed using the Online Police Reporting System will be reviewed. To ensure thorough investigation/documentation of your incident, please provide as much information as possible, including a detailed narrative describing circumstances, property lost or damaged, value, etc. Upon review, if further investigation of your case is needed, you may be contacted.

To provide additional information about your previously submitted report, please call 605-677-7070
