Ride-Along Program
Have you ever been interested to see firsthand what police officers do? The Vermillion Police Department is pleased to offer a Ride-Along Program. We encourage those interested in finding out what their community servants do to come patrolling with us. Ride-Alongs allow community members to accompany an officer during his or her shift and learn about what exactly it is that officers do, day in and day out. Participants are often exposed to a variety of tasks and responsibilities encountered daily by our officers - exposure which will likely range from simply patrolling and interacting with the community to responding to actual calls for service. If you have an interest in our department or policing in general, and would like to come along for a unique experience, contact us for further details, or simply complete and return the application found below. Participants are required to complete the Ride Along application below. Upon receipt, your application will be reviewed by the Department. Once approved, you will be contacted by an officer to set up a date and time that works for you to come and ride along with us. A waiver of liability must be reviewed and signed at time of Ride Along.
